Your Foe

Oh, the elusive one, so sought after,
Those who have me, desire me more,
But those who long for me, are left empty-handed,
I am the catalyst of transformation, a double-edged sword.

I turn friends into foes, and foes into allies,
I bring chaos to order, and order to chaos,
I am the force that corrupts the purest hearts,
And transforms virtues into vices.

Despite my destructive power, I am loved by all,
For I bring value to the valueless, and power to the powerless,
I am the temptation that leads astray,
Yet I am sought after by all, in a desperate display.

I am the enemy that seduces with false promises,
If you try to grasp me, I will slip through your fingers,
For I am the essence of contradiction, the beloved adversary,
In my presence, justice turns to injustice, and light to darkness.

Beware of my allure, for I can lead even saints astray,
I am the whisper in the ear that breeds doubt and fear,
I bring out the worst in humanity, a mirror to our flaws,
I am desire personified, the beloved enemy that beckons from afar.
