An Unwelcomed Guest

Nobody invites you but you visit all the houses,
Nobody likes you but you like all the people,
Everybody looks at you as if you are their enemy,
Nobody realizes that you are as cool as cucumber,
You lay your icy hands on everybody on an unexpected day,
You turn even giants to the dust,
You are the one to teach us that our life is ephemeral,
Though we are weak we boast of our strength,
All our beauty is a dream in your world,
We had a very little time on this planet,
Though our days are very few, we behave is if we are kings here forever,
and divide ourselves in caste, colour, creed, gender, region and religion.
When we realize that we are just human like other human beings
We leave this world though we don’t like to leave leaving all the things we earned
to make our life easy and comfort and all our comforts will be turned into discomforts.

The Spirit of a Syrian Child

I do not know who you are,
But why do you bring us harm?
Innocent lives taken away,
For what reason, I cannot say.

Children like me, with no sin,
Why do you let the darkness in?
Do you not see we are all the same,
Born of flesh and blood with no shame?

Are you a man or beast in disguise,
Feeding on blood as your prize?
Do you not feel the pain and fear,
Of those you hurt, oh so dear?

May your heart soften, may you see,
The destruction you bring upon humanity.
Let peace and love guide your way,
And bring an end to this endless fray.

I pray for all those lost in the fight,
For a world where we can live in light.
Let us all come together as one,
And let peace reign, when all is said and done.
